Biology 2 students at VRG visited Vetenskaps Hus this week to perform experiments that are not possible back at school.
Students learned about our sense of smell and how smells affect our daily lives. In addition, students studied how animals (and humans) use smell as neurotransmitters. Students also learned how perfumes can be manufactured synthetically. Chanel No 5 was the first synthetically produced perfume in 1921. The lab ended with students developing their own perfumes.
VRG visits Vetenskaps Hus several times during the year to work with experiments that are difficult to perform at school or to explore new areas of science.
