VR turns 20!

During weeks 39 and 40, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Viktor Rydberg School Foundation.

On Sunday, September 28, we were treated to a gala performance with current students, alumni, and staff at Cirkus in Stockholm.

On Monday, September 29, all VR staff were treated to an international evening at Tensta 20adultKonsthall where we visited the art gallery, listened to Egyptian, Uzbekistanian, and Turkish music, as well as inspiring words from our founders Louise Westerberg and Louise Ankakrona.  We enjoyed Indian food, as well as homemade Syrian pastries.  The theme of this evening was a tribute to our school’s international profile.

Then, on October 1st and 2nd, students in the 5 different VR schools were treated to an inspiring music concert with Kilema, a famous musician from Madagascar.  Not only did we listen to enchanting native music, but we also learned about the country and the culture from which he came.

The same vision that our schools were founded on 20 years ago still inspire the learning today …

About kristylundstrom

I currently work as Head at Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium in Djursholm. I am a student of learning. I am interested to see where it happens, when it happens, and how it happens. I am also a math and computer science teacher. I have lived in Belgium and in the USA. I really appreciate my multi-cultural environment - I believe it adds dynamics to our school.
