On Tuesday, April 14, former Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt visited VRGD to speak with all students. During his lecture, Mr. Reinfeldt discussed global trends facing our society, as well as gave advice as to what students could do to prepare themselves to be productive in the future. He also answered questions from students.
Discussed as specific global trends shaping our nearest future: human rights and the difference in opinion from nation to nation; population growth/decline and population
distribution between urban and rural areas; longevity and positive healthcare developments; digitization and access to information … And, the combination of these trends will most certainly affect economic stability, resource allocation, national and international relations.
Mr. Reinfeldt “humbly” shared the following tips for successful preparation for a productive future:
study hard – not to learn facts, but be able to analyze information and understand the connections
focus on language – mother tongue be good communicator; foreign language is important – to be able to talk to different people from different culture
develop "work skills" - be able to work in process and team; focus on results; get experience - get out there and check it out
innovation is key – learn to think!
