#vrgolympics2015 – a day to remember

IMG_4195Congratulations to NA16A – Team “Kalas”  – winners of this year’s prestigious VRG Olympics.

Today was a full day of team building, competition and cheering; it was VRG Olympics 2015.

The day started with a parade of teams.  Each team had chosen a theme, created a song/cheer and a flag.  During the parade, teams judged each other.

After the parade, every class competed in different events to gather points.  And, in the end, the class with the most points was crowned the winner.  The different stations included:  jeopardy, soccer, volleyball, building a marshmallow tower, move-the-block competition, cake decorating, flying paper airplanes, doobie do, write a haiku and more . . .

Maybe the most popular competition is cake decorating:

Or, the finals in soccer:

Actually this day was less about competition between classes and more about teaching cooperation within the classes, but the students were so busy having fun they hardly noticed.

Thanks to Gabby and Kim for organizing us so well.  Thanks, too, to all of our teachers – both those who competed on our #tfh2.0 team and the many station guards.

It was a day to be remembered …
