As teachers at VRG Djursholm get ready to welcome our students back … we are practicing “learning new.”
We believe that Art and Science go hand in hand when students are learning. This year, we are focused on two specific aspects of this important approach:
Readiness to learn something new/Beredskap att lära nytt
Different forms of expression, learning styles and an openness for creativity/ Olika uttrycksformer, inlärningssätt och öppenhet för kreativitet
We believe these are important aspects of developing intellectual curiosity, academic perseverance as well as creative and critical thinking.
We are looking into the research of Carol Dweck, Alva Appelgren, brain-based learning, as well as the work of Franklin Covey regarding trust.
In addition, we will work together throughout the year both with our students and in focused study groups to further understand these aspects of learning …
